4 new HIV poz folks

First! Stop and breath, it is going to be OK! You hit a helluva speed bump, not a death sentence. Takes a good many folks about a year or so to get over the shock. Give your self time to deal and avoid any big decisions for a year or so. (The woman and one of my all time favorite buds suggested I put this up for you was bad off for months when first diagnosed. Through helping others and finding the love of her life found happy. You can too! She moved a continent away and now has a beautiful, healthy lil one. There is hope!)

Before I offer advice, I should tell you I was diagnosed as HIV positive in 1992, am in great health and not on meds yet. I live with Carol who is negative and we are very happy even though we are as yet not blessed with kids.

If you are brand new to the HIV ranks, really and truly; stop, breath and try not to think. Most folks just have no idea what being poz is like. You are not dying. You are lovable and not a leper. After 9 yrs of being poz, I told every one. I was met with hugs and hand shakes and a whole lot of love. Just remember, you can not "untell" any one and word gets around fast.

Bottom line, you now have a health issue. Take care of you. Don't forget;

You can have kids.

You can find love.

Barring a bus hit, your gonna die old and cranky after a long, great life.

If you have no hope, no God or no energy to go on, take mine. I understand where you are and will gladly help you through this time. Soon, you will be doing it for some one else. God bless. Remember, is never easy but always fun. Love you more then you know.
